A 24-inch washer does not automatically mean a standard 120V plug. In our current compact-washer set, four front-load washers are recorded as 120V from their source records: LG WM1455HWA, Electrolux ELFW4222AW, GE GFW148SSMWW, and Miele WXD160WCS. The Bosch WGA14400UC is the useful counterexample: its official spec sheet lists 208/220–240V and a 15A circuit breaker.
So this ranking starts with power, then uses CLF Score to order the 120V shortlist. CLF is our published-fact score for fit flexibility, owner satisfaction, running cost, and warranty coverage. The LG WM1455HWA is the strongest 120V washer in the current data. Its official builder spec sheet lists 120V, 60 Hz, 10A, a 24” width, 33.5” height, 22.25” closed depth, and 43.25” depth with the door open. It also records the stacking kit as included with the matching dryer.
That combination is why the score is high: 85.9 fit-flexibility, 98.5 running-cost, and 100.0 coverage. The score record does not include a retailer rating average, so owner satisfaction is not part of its CLF number. The review source we do have is qualitative: owners describe clean wash results, low detergent use, quiet operation, and compact capacity; the recurring complaint is long cycle time and difficulty getting a simple hot-wash/cold-rinse combination.

2. Electrolux ELFW4222AW — CLF 86.6
The Electrolux ELFW4222AW is another 120V compact front-loader. Its source record lists 23.625” width, 25” depth, 33.5” height, 42” depth with the door open, and 120V 60 Hz power. The amperage field is left unknown in our unit record because the source table did not publish it.
Its score is more review-backed than LG’s: owner satisfaction is 91.8 from a 4.59-star average across 110 AJ Madison ratings. The running-cost component is also 100.0 from a 90 kWh/yr score basis. The trade-off is review texture. Owners praise effective washing and intuitive controls, but several flag a loud spin cycle, and a subset report door-gasket moisture or mildew.

3. GE GFW148SSMWW — CLF 85.5
The GE GFW148SSMWW is the most review-backed 120V washer in this group. The AJ Madison spec table records 23.4375” width, 25.625” depth, 33.25” height, 42.8125” depth with the door open, 120V, and a 3-prong grounding receptacle. GE’s official manual adds the calibrated electrical detail: an individual grounded 15 or 20 amp circuit breaker or time-delay fuse, with 120V single-phase 60 Hz power.
Its CLF Score is 85.5, with 83.1 fit-flexibility, 100.0 running-cost, and 88.6 owner satisfaction from a 4.43-star average across 1,200 AJ Madison ratings. That large review base cuts both ways: many owners say it is quiet, cleans well, and holds more than expected, while a vocal subset report severe spin-cycle vibration or shaking.

4. Miele WXD160WCS — CLF 81.4
The Miele WXD160WCS stays on the 120V side of the line. Its source record lists 23.5” width, 25.3125” depth, 33.5”–34.75” height, water connection requirements, 110V / 120V, and 15A. Depth with door open is not published in our source record, so the fit finder treats that as unknown instead of inventing it.
Its 81.4 CLF Score is strong on fit flexibility and warranty coverage, but the owner-satisfaction component is lower: 71.6 from a 3.58-star average across 19 AJ Madison ratings. The review themes show the split. Fans call it quiet and well-balanced; complaints mention buggy electronics, error codes, repeat service visits, and one bearing failure under two years.

The 240V counterexample: Bosch WGA14400UC
The Bosch WGA14400UC is a compact 24”-class washer, but it is not a standard 120V shortlist item. Bosch’s official spec sheet lists 208/220–240V, 10.5A current, and a 15A circuit breaker. The same record lists 23.5” width, 24.25” depth, 33.25” height, 41.5” depth with the door open, hot and cold supply hoses, and stackability with accessory kits.
That is why Bosch’s fit-flexibility sub-score is 67.4 even though its running-cost component is 100.0. The machine may be a good compact washer in the right laundry closet, but the power requirement is a hard first filter. How to use this shortlist
Do not stop at voltage. A 120V washer can still miss your closet on depth, door-open path, water supply, drain, or shelf height. Check these in order:
- Outlet: 120V vs a model that requires 240V per spec sheet.
- Width: the narrowest door frame or closet opening, not the nominal room.
- Depth: closed cabinet depth and door-open depth where published.
- Hookups: washers still need water supply and a drain per their source records.
- Evidence gaps: unpublished amperage, missing door-open depth, or missing owner-rating data should stay visible.
If your constraint is a standard 120V receptacle, start with LG, Electrolux, GE, and Miele. Then run the fit finder with the real measurements — it computes the dimensional margins and hookup mismatches from the same source-locked records used here.
